The board of directors at Borealis has named Craig Arnold as the new Executive Vice President Polyolefins, Circular Economy Solutions and Innovation & Technology, effective from Feb. 1, 2024. He replaces Lucrèce Foufopoulos-De Ridder, who decided to leave the Austria-based chemical company to pursue other career opportunities.
Arnold is currently the Chief Commercial Officer at Ferroglobe PLC, a manufacturer of metallurgical products in Madrid, Spain. He previously had a long-standing career at Dow, where he held various senior management roles, including an Executive Secondment and Advisor to the CEO at the Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) in Singapore, amongst many others. Arnold has also served on many industry associations, academic, and government related bodies. He has an educational background in chemical engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Borealis CEO Thomas Gangl will assume responsibility for the Polyolefins, Circular Economy Solutions and Innovation & Technology segment on an interim basis from Jan. 1 until Arnold steps in.
