As one of the most strongly growing and dynamic economies in Europe, Poland is expected to play an increasingly important role in the consumption and processing of biobased plastics, biodegradable and otherwise.
Germany-based Bio-Fed, a branch of Akro-Plastic GmbH and part of the Feddersen Group, specialises in the development of tailor-made durable and biodegradable biocompounds made wholly or partially from renewably-sourced feedstocks.
This year, the company will be exhibiting for the second time at Plastpol Kielce, one of the largest exhibitions in Poland and Eastern Europe dedicated to the plastics industry and taking place this year May 28-31 for the twenty-third time.
Last year’s debut was successful: this year, the booth Bio-Fed will share with sister company K.D. Feddersen CEE GmbH, will be considerably larger.
Bio-Fed produces and markets biodegradable and/or biobased compounds under the M∙VERA brand. These products are well-established in a number of applications and processable using conventional technologies. The range includes film extrusion materials, most of which are certified according to EN 13432; injection moulding materials for applications such as coffee capsules, disposable cutlery and dishes, and products suitable for thermoforming. All products are easily coloured using the biopolymer-based masterbatches, which are certified in accordance with EN 13432, produced by sister company Af-Color. New products are currently under development.
