Febo, an Italian distributor of thermoplastic and petrochemical products and Akro-Plast subsidiary Bio-Fed have announced the expansion of their distribution agreement into Greece.
The two companies are long-term partners who have been working together since 2016, when Bio-Fed appointed Febo and its subsidiary Febo 3R as its exclusive distributor in Italy.
Now, Febo Hellas has been granted the exclusive distribution rights for Bio-Fed’s MVera compounds in the Greek market.
"The market for bioplastics has grown significantly in recent years, especially in southern European countries, due to the relevant legislation," said Dr Stanislaw Haftka, Sales Director at Bio-Fed. The distributor is an experienced partner, he said, with the expertise and capability to serve and further expand the company’s customer base in southern Europe.
Bio-Fed produces and sells biodegradable and/or biobased plastic compounds. The company also boasts a well-equipped R&D department that is focused on innovation.
Febo will distribute the complete MVera product range for blown film extrusion, injection moulding and extrusion applications in Italy and Greece, as well as the company’s range of biodegradable AF-Eco biomasterbatches. To meet growing demand, MVera compounds for other processing technologies are currently under development. The cooperation will allow new synergies and more opportunities to be created in a market that is constantly evolving and growing, the companies said.
