BestPlus Plastic Lumber was used to deck out a backyard oasis for a family in a project for Make-A-Wish New Hampshire.
The subsidiary and its parent company, Somerville, Mass.-based Triumvirate Environmental Inc., collaborated with a landscaping company and pool sales business to fulfill a dream for an above-ground pool with a lounging and play area around it for a boy named Colin and his family.
Founded in 1988, Triumverate offers hazardous and medical waste management and recycling and environmental services. The BestPlus subsidiary manufactures plastic lumber at a site in Jeannette, Pa. from recycled plastic for decking, construction products, landscape timbers, speed bumps and park benches.
The BestPlus team donated the plastic boards to create beautiful and durable raised garden beds and planter boxes surrounding the newly installed pool.
The contribution enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the area and underscored Triumvirate Environmental's commitment to sustainability and community engagement, according to Triumverate CEO John McMillan.
"We are incredibly honored to have been part of Colin's Make-A-Wish project," McQuillan said in a company news release. "Thank you to Colin and his family for the opportunity to contribute to such a wonderful cause. We are proud to support Make-A-Wish New Hampshire and look forward to future projects where we can continue to make a meaningful impact."
Colin arrived by limousine to the grand reveal and was greeted by Spider-Man and Batman in addition to the members of the wish-granting companies.
The celebration marked not just the unveiling of a new pool, but the realization of a child's dream supported by a community determined to make a difference, company officials said.
