Berry Bramlage, formerly RPC Bramlage, has won German Packaging Awards in the Sustainability category for significant design and technical enhancements to two packaging solutions.
The Lip Care stick and Magic Star Light were praised by the judging panel for their move to a mono-material pack, while maintaining full functionality and consumer convenience.
The design of the Lip Care stick has been optimised from a 4-part assembly with a polyoxymethylene (POM) piston to a 3-part version with a polypropylene (PP) piston. Not only is the packaging lighter, as a mono-material solution it is easier to recycle. In addition to the 2.5 turn for conventional slow opening, the twist-up rigid tube is now available with a 0.75 turn for fast opening. Both ensure precise control to avoid any breaking of the lipstick or balm.
The new version of the Magic Star Light airless dispenser no longer features a metal spring in the dispenser head but is now produced with a PP version. The dispenser is now made from 100% plastics, achieving an important weight saving and enhancing the packaging’s recyclability.
