Following the 2018 launch of its Retran product, which uses a minimum of 70% recycled plastic and is fully recyclable, Luton-based Bell Packaging has launched a related programme to help with product recycling.
The embossed recycling logos will help consumers and recyclers improve end-of-use product sorting.
The logos will be added to a series of items produced by Bell, including Retran tubing and folding boxes. Other items include packaging inserts and end caps.
The addition of logos should help with sorting and separating plastics into the appropriate waste stream.
Commenting on the initiative, Bell MD Peter Lennie, said: “We have been absolutely delighted with the take up by Bell customers for Retran. The switch from the original virgin PET formulation to the recycled version has been easy.”
Lennie added that the new product identifications will help support government and commercial recycling initiatives.
Plastics which cannot be readily recycled will be used to produce a series of other products, sich as garden furniture, housing products or road surfacing.
