Polymer distributor Eurasiacorp has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Belgian recycling specialist Matco Plastics.
Eurasiacorp, whose activities are focussed on both the local - Benelux - and the European market was founded by the current CEO, Manu Hanet, in 2011, and has since carved out a strong position as a distributor of a range of polymers. The present acquisition not only boosts the company’s annual volume to over 100 kt, it also considerably expands its offering of recycled resins. Matco, whose production department was formerly known as Reborn Plastics, brings in-house recycling of plastic waste and production of recycled resins to the deal.
As a result, the share of recycled resins will grow from about 6% to over 25%, with more than 40% of that from in-house production, allowing Eurasiacorp to provide open and closed loop recycling possibilities to its customers, said Hanet.
“Joining forces with Eurasiacorp enables Matco Plasticsto extend its reach in the European market,” said managing director and co-owner, Cédric Blijweert.
“In this way the future of our company is secured and can we focus on further growth,” added Lieven Lagast, founder of Matco Plastics and Steven Vandevyvere, founder of Reborn Plastics.
