Axion Polymers has won a 2019 National Recycling Award in the category ‘Team of the Year – Commercial’.
The MRW National Recycling Awards bring together recycling and waste management professionals to recognise best practice.
The company received the accolade for its development of bespoke recycled polymers for its customers.
At Axion’s two processing sites, plastics recovered from end-of-life vehicles is refined into engineering polymers matching virgin material quality.
The otherwise waste material has become an important raw material source for new applications, including new automotive components, furniture and roof tiles.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, business development manager Mark Keenan said: “Circular economy principles run throughout every aspect of the Axion Polymers team’s work and we’re delighted to have been recognised with a National Recycling Award.”
Axion Polymers is part of Axion Group, which develops and operates resource and processing solutions for recycling waste materials.
