Axion Polymers, the Salford-based plastics recycling group, has announced the appointment of two senior managers at its advanced automotive shredder waste processing plant (Swapp) in Telford.
Mike Bennett has been promoted to technical manager, charged with overseeing the group's long-term, large-scale development projects, while Peter Eastham – whose background is in the recycling and coal processing industries – has joined the facility as operations manager.
Axion's Swapp facility produces recycled plastics from old vehicles, including Axpoly r-PP51, which the group said would go back into new automotive components.
It also manufactures materials for the construction industry and high-calorific solid recovered fuel.
Speaking about his new role, Bennett said: “We're focusing on both efficiency improvements and development of completely new processing operations, as part of our investment plans over the coming years.”
