The scholarship programme of the Australasian Bioplastics Association (ABA) is open for applications until Jan. 24, 2025.
Awarded in partnership with the Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP), the programme enables one eligible candidate to undertake a Diploma in Packaging Technology and a second person to undertake a Certificate in Packaging.
Candidates must be currently employed in materials or packaging in Australia or New Zealand. They must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or residents and demonstrate an interest in materials and packaging. Candidates must also be supported by their company for the entire duration of the course, three years.
The Diploma in Packaging Technology is a Level 5 PIABC, 51-credit foundation degree-level qualification that prepares students to take responsibility for packaging operations at any level through the supply chain and can also lead to higher level study.
The Certificate in Packaging Technology is an introduction to the industry for those starting out on a career in packaging. The Certificate in Packaging is a Level 3 PIABC course that is recognised as giving an excellent foundation in, and introduction to, the packaging industry.

ABA scholarship winners will be announced at the 2025 Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards which will be held on the 6th of May at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney.
The 2024 winner of the ABA Scholarship Certificate in Packaging scholarship was Manpreet Kaur Grewal, product technologist at MSAC Solutions. The winner of the 2024 ABA Scholarship Diploma in Packaging Technology was Angela Hanson, Packaging Technologist at Tip Top.
