Arburg has announced changes to its management team. There will two new faces at the table in the course of 2024: Steffen Kroner and an already appointed but still undisclosed successor to Gerhard Böhm, currently managing director sales and after sales.
Kroner will take charge of the Finance, Controlling, IT and Human Resource Management division. The division was created at the beginning of the year following changes at the management team at the end of 2023, according to an Arburg statement.
Those changes saw Renate Keinath, who had been responsible for Human Resource Management as managing partner since 2005, retire from operational business. He stayed at the company as a member of the newly created Advisory Board. In addition, Jürgen Boll, Managing Director Finance, Controlling, IT, retired at the end of 2023.
Another major change at Arburg at the end of 2023 was the passing away of Eugen Hehl, who was chairman of the management team for many years and responsible for global sales at Arburg. He played a key role in the company's global success.
Kroner will take up his position as Managing Director Finance, Controlling, IT and Human Resource Management on July 1. He will bring a younger perspective alongside extensive knowledge of business administration issues. He is currently Commercial Director of the Liebherr Tower Crane Division, the world’s largest supplier of tower and mobile construction cranes.
Gerhard Böhm, who has been Arburg’s managing director sales and after sales since 2016, will retire once he has helped his successor get familiarised with the role, at the latest by Oct. 1
At Arburg’s Technology Days press conference earlier this month, Böhm said he sees ‘no discernible signs of any clear and imminent improvement’ to the current weak sales situation. Arburg’s 2023 sales decreased 11% year on year.
At the same press conference, the company announced it will start manufacturing injection moulding machines outside of Germany for the first time, in response to a ‘changed global and market situation’ with ‘ever more dynamic requirements’.
