Albis, a leading distributor of thermoplastics headquartered in Germany, has expanded its portfolio of sustainable resins.
As of the start of this year, the company added two new materials produced by SK Chemicals to its assortment of sustainable products.
The two new additions - the Ecotria CR and Skypet CR product ranges - are REACH certified and distributed by Albis throughout Europe. "The brands perfectly complement our leading sustainable portfolio and offer our customers another way to integrate environmentally friendly and resource-saving solutions into their applications,” said Stephan Schoen, senior director of product management.
The two product families are produced from chemically recycled hard-to-recycle PET waste, which means they have a lower carbon footprint than their conventionally produced counterparts, while retaining the same properties and quality. Moreover, in this way, the waste is returned to the material cycle.
Because of this, they offer a valuable drop-in solution for fossil-based plastics. The materials achieve outstanding results in numerous manufacturing processes, including the cosmetics and food packaging industries, thanks to excellent transparency and processability.
"Chemical recycling is a crucial technology to continuously strengthen the recycling of plastics and essential to our own goal of achieving zero emissions by 2040," says Sung-jin Lee, managing director of SK Chemicals Europe.
