Pointing to the changes that have swept the world since its founding in 1949, the Feddersen Group has now revamped its corporate design to better reflect the challenges - and opportunities - of the present time. The new design was launched 1 October 2022, just in time for K 2022.
Back when Karl Detlef Feddersen founded the Group, he faced the challenges of his time, explained Sandra Dierks, head of Communications & Public Relations at K.D. Feddersen Holding GmbH. “In 2022, the company group faces new questions. We are introducing this new departure with the new corporate design.”
The original logo, she added, featured a rhombus - a shape that has recurred throughout the various representations of the logo over the decades.
“Now these elements can be found in a dynamic form in the new logo. This symbol has accompanied our group of companies for decades and a part of it is now placed in front of the respective company name. We are well prepared for the change and want to move forward together with customers and principles on a future-oriented, digital path,” she said.
The companies in the Feddersen Group are all owned by K.D. Feddersen Holding GmbH. The holding has a single shareholder - the non-profit K.D. Feddersen Foundation - which operates a residential and nursing home in Hamburg.
The Group is made up of a wide range of companies operating in various sectors, including the trade and distribution of engineering plastics, technical products, chemicals and raw materials for various industries. Akro-Plastic GmbH has been part of the Feddersen Group for over 30 years and specialises in plastic compounds; Af-Color, operating under its own name since 2003, produces black, colour and additive masterbatches, while Bio-Fed develops and markets biodegradable and bio-based plastic compounds.
Other members of the group are the toll compounding company PolyComp; M.Tec Engineering, an engineering service provider for the design of products and processes; Feddem, specialised in mechanical engineering and the manufacture of twin-screw extruders, compounding lines and turnkey systems; and stainless steel trading company Voß Edelstahlhandel. For the latter company, however, nothing will change as it operates independently on the market.
