Pursuant to its goal of building a pan-European recycling platform for recycled LDPE, Repeats Group B.V. has acquired a stake in Anviplas S.L., a producer of recycled LDPE located in the Catalunya region of Spain. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Anviplas is a mechanical recycling company that has supplied recycled LDPE resin to customers for over 30 years. The company is led by Aleix Vintró who has worked in the business for over 15 years alongside his father and grandfather, Anviplas' founders. Vintró will lead the Spanish operations and expansion plans going forward.
The company has an outstanding reputation in the industry as a leading LDPE recycler in Spain, said Greg Rung, Repeats' CEO. Partnering with Repeats will support Anviplas’ ambition to expand its operations and its geographic reach, offering significant opportunity for Anviplas to continue to penetrate the Spanish recycled LDPE market while growing its footprint to service feedstock supplies from Southern France.
"We share Repeats' ambition to become the largest independent LDPE recycler in Europe,” said Aleix Vintró.
Repeats is based in the Netherlands. The name is an acronym derived from Recycled PE AT Scale, and this investment in Anviplas represents an important step in building its recycling platform. Repeats is a portfolio company of Ara Partners, a global private equity firm focused on industrial decarbonisation.
"The Repeats platform is well-positioned for rapid growth,” said Tuan Tran, a partner at Ara Partners. “Our investment in Anviplas will have a meaningful impact on our continued efforts to help transform and decarbonise the European plastics market through increased LDPE recycling capacity."
