As plastics recycling continues to gain in importance, and post-consumer plastic volumes continue to rise, the need for more sorting, processing and recycling capacity has caused demand for recycling machinery to rise sharply. At Lindner Recyclingtech, the family-owned, Austria-based manufacturer of shredders and washing systems for processing post-consumer plastics, the volume of orders received is currently ‘exceeding the expectations'.
‘The plastics sector is booming. For Lindner, it is a crucial area of business that is strategically very important,' said Michael Lackner, Lindner managing director/CMO.
These developments in the market led to the decision to set up an independent engineering department within Lindner WashTech GmbH, the Germany-based Lindner company specialised in washing equipment, with a focus on research and development as well as system planning. The company, which offers innovative products such as wet shredders and rafters (pre-washing for post-consumer plastics) will continue to focus on developing new products.
Lindner WashTech will now also be responsible for the sales and service of washing systems. ‘These measures put us in a good position to meet the major challenges of plastics recycling in the next few years,' says Lindner CEO Manuel Lindner.
Lindner operates around the globe and currently implements washing systems for hard plastics and post-consumer film in Spain, Scandinavia, Bulgaria, the Baltic States, Australia and Canada. A further expansion of the division is planned over the coming months.
