French automotive supplier Plastic Omnium is planning to sell its waste management business unit - Environment Division – as part of its strategy to focus exclusively on its automotive operation.
The division, which covers six plans in France, Germany and Spain, generated €330m in revenue last year, equivalent of 4% of the group's total revenue.
The unit also employs 1,800 people in 12 countries and has 8,000 customers.
The Plastic Omnium division recently opened an R&D centre and customer point of service in Saint Priest, France, to regularly add to its line of products and services.
The unit produces containers for households and collection banks, and offers related services including maintenance, washing and data management. It also offers urban equipment for waste disposal locations, playgrounds, parks and streets.
Plastic Omnium said it would endeavour to select a purchaser which has ambitions to develop the business.
