German machinery supplier is opening a trial centre for its latest combined recycling and recompounding technology in Gunskirchen, Austria this June, according to Carl P. Poepel, product manager twin-screw extruders, KraussMaffei Berstorff.
In his presentation to the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) on 30 March, the official said the EdelweissCompounding Trial centre would be dedicated for customer trials and will open 27-28 June in the Austrian city.
KraussMaffei Berstorff, in partnership with Erema Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH, has developed the EdelweissCompounding technology which supplies recycling systems for Berstorff's re-compounding technology.
This combination, said Poepel, is useful for both compounders and recyclers, as the former can back-integrate the system while the latter can forward-integrate the system in their plants.
The two companies announced the partnership at K show in October 2016.
“The perfect portfolio combination of both partners clearly demonstrates that integrated recycling and compounding — or rather, recompounding — has become a key element of our strategic orientation,” said Peter Roos, president of the extrusion technology segment of the KraussMaffei Group at K.
