Aimplas, the Spain-based plastics technology centre, is planning to host its next international seminar on biopolymers and sustainable composites in March next year.
The meeting, in Valencia, will feature a programme with more than 20 experts and companies from the sector discussing the challenges facing bioplastics, as well as the opportunities, plus the main innovations on biodegradable plastic materials from renewable sources.
The seminar, sponsored by BASF, among others, has been divided in two days on 1 and 2 March. Day one will assess trends and the role of bioplastics in the economy of the future. Then, the main developments on raw materials will be discussed and the most innovative applications in the packaging sector will be showcased.
The second day will begin with a review of the current regulations on the use of biopolymers at industrial level.
The seminar will end with a discussion between different speakers, where case studies of success and the state-of-the-art industrial applications will be showcased, as well as those performed by sectors such as food, construction, textile, fishing and agriculture.
As in previous editions, the meeting will feature an exhibition area, where participating companies will show their latest innovations and launches of commercial products, thus taking place an interesting exchange space of information and contacts will be generated.
