Austrian recycling group Candi Plastic Recycling recently added a new Starlinger supplied recycling line to handle more difficult materials at its subsidiary Calex S.R.L. in northern Romania.
The latest recoSTAR dynamic 105 C-VAC, which can process material at a rate of 450 - 650kg/hour, was installed and commissioned in July at the recycling facility in the village of Comuna Groși, close to the northern Romanian city of Maramureș.
Being used mainly for processing post-consumer plastics waste, including polypropylene and high density polyethylene pipes, low density PE film and large PP bags, the new line was chosen for its flexibility.
“Unlike other recycling lines, a recoSTAR line can handle problem materials requiring a powerful vacuum system, such as BOPP, OPP, PLA and OPS. The line's flexible adjustability enables it to process also moist material,” commented group managing director Gheorghe Campan.
This is the third Starlinger recycling line that the Austrian group has installed with the first two located at Candi Plastic Recycling's main plant at Sollenau, Lower Austria.
The company's first Starlinger recycling line, installed in 2014, has been used to process highly printed films and materials including PLA, BOPP and OPS, along with plastics with up to a 10% aluminium or paper content. It had a 600 kg/h capacity.
With the new Starlinger line, the existing plant at the Romanian subsidiary Calex already has two washing lines and three other recycling lines.
In July this year, Candi Plastic Recycling installed a new UNTHA QR1700 shredder at its main plant to replace the existing Lindner Vega 1650. The new machine is versatile and can process all types of plastic waste regardless of its shape, condition and sort of material, the recycler said.
