Simon Scholes has been appointed to the board of directors of Veka Recycling, where he will take the role of commercial director.
Scholes has stepped up from his previous position as business manager for the company.
He has served the firm in two spells for a total of eight years, and will now have responsibility for sales, marketing, administration and accounts for the company in addition to responsibility for the management of its recycling centres, in the West Midlands and Cornwall.
He also sits on the Recycling Committee of the British Plastics Federation.
“Obviously I am very happy with this appointment,” commented Scholes. “We have made a measurable difference in respect of the volumes PVC-U material returned to the market.
“A key objective now is to prove our ability to supply high quality recyclate, reliably and consistently.”
Established in 2007, Veka Recycling is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Veka Umwelttechnik.
Veka Umwelttechnik managing director Norbert Bruns, said: “We have ambitious long-term plans and to achieve these we need the expertise and commitment that Simon can offer, to achieve the company's aims of course, but also to develop the market for recycling PVC-U just as we have done throughout Europe.”
