Austrian recycling equipment maker Next Generation Recyclingmaschinen (NGR) has acquired Britas Recycling Anlagen of Hanau, Germany.
Britas manufactures melt filters for heavily contaminated plastic melt streams. Its automatic screen changers are well-suited for the filtration of post-consumer plastics, with high output rates, the companies said. They use wire cloth on a roll as the filter media.
NGR said the deal, for undisclosed terms, was effective 22 May. NGR announced the news on 18 June. NGR will operate Britas as a subsidiary.
NGR, based in Feldkirchen, makes plastics recycling equipment for running post-industrial and post-consumer plastics.
Lucian Britchi, the former owner of Britas Recycling, will remain as CEO of the operation.
NGR employs 75 people and generated turnover of €29m in the business year 2012-2013. The company was founded in 1996.
