Auto supplier Johnson Controls Inc (JCI) is working with the Germany-based Fraunhofer Research Institution for Polymeric Materials and Composites (PYCO) to develop sustainable materials for automotive applications.
PYCO is based in Germany and manufactures highly cross-linked polymers.
The two companies will work, in particular, on polymers that are recyclable and repariable, as well as have good mechanical properties.
Within the framework of the agreement, JCI and the Fraunhofer Institution will expand the PYCO-Technikum science center in Wildau, Germany, and will implement new processing technologies.
