Rhodia, the speciality chemicals group owned by Solvay, has have entered into a partnership with Netherland's Avantium to jointly develop a range of bio-based polyamides.
This partnership expands on the previously announced development agreement in between the two companies based on Avantium's YXY (pronounced Icksy) technology.
“This collaboration perfectly fits with our strategy to deliver new sustainable products to our markets, and will combine our know-how in polyamides with Avantium's YXY technology to produce building blocks for green materials,” said explained Louis Neltner, R&D vice-president at Rhodia.
